School Physicist of the Year -
This inspiring event, sponsored by the Oxfordshire Independent/State School Partnership and the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, took place on Tuesday 24th March 2009 .
Dr Chris Davis from the Space Science Department, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory talked about the effect of the sun on the weather in space. He then awarded certificates and book tokens to the 19 award winners from secondary schools across Oxfordshire.

Rutherford Appleton Laboratory sponsored and held this event with twenty pupils from across the county nominated by their schools to attend the lecture and presentation by Professor Richard Harrison of the Space Science Department.
